Abstract

Guidelines for resuscitation following cardiopulmonary arrest have changed significantly following an extensive systematic review of evidence by teams of international experts. In this article the rationale for these changes is described and new algorithms for adult life support are presented. There will be much confusion unless all potential rescuers become aware of such modification in the practice of cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
