Abstract

The present study is to evaluate the preventive role of Ageratum conyzoides L. on mitochondrial enzymes such as isocitrate dehydrogenase (ICDH), succinate dehydrogenase (SDH), malate dehydrogenase (MDH), and α-ketoglutarate dehydrogenase (α-KGDH) and respiratory chain enzymes such as NADH dehydrogenase and cytochrome c oxidase in isoproterenol (ISO)- induced myocardial infarction (MI) in male albino Wistar rats. Rats were orally pre-treated with Ageratum conyzoides L. (100 and 200 mg/kg) to ISO-induced rats daily for a period of 56 days.
