Abstract

We and others have demonstrated that activation of the BKCa channel is mitigates myocardial stunning associated with mild-ischemic insults. Cardioprotective BKCa channel activation is associated with decreased ROS, improved respiration, and survival. In this study we used pig model of myocardial stunning due to cardioplegic arrest and cardiopulmonary bypass (CP/CPB). Mitochondrial protein expression alterations were identified by TMT-MS analysis.
