Abstract
Now in its eighth edition and written by three respected cardiologists, this remains a solid, all-round text. The first edition appeared in 1970, which shows that, with the necessary adaptation, it has remained a good, general introductory core text. This edition benefits from much greater use of investigative diagnostic illustrations and includes colour slides of echo and nuclear tests. There remains a useful chapter on cardiac assessment and a good chapter that gives an overview of the clinical presentation of coronary disease.
