Abstract

Biocomputing Biocomputing is an emerging field aimed at creating computers from biological materials. In article number 2000253, Pinar Zorlutuna and co-workers present a biocomputing system constructed using heart muscle cells to natively solve a prototypical constrained optimization problem. A biological computing fabric is created by micropatterning a coupled network of oscillating cardiac cells, which is used to solve a 3-node graph coloring problem.
