Abstract

HFpEF is a heterogeneous disease often associated with hypertension, obesity and diabetes. A HFpEF diagnosis is more common in women than men. Despite this disparity, very few studies have investigated mechanisms of HFpEF which interact with diabetes. Furthermore, sex specificity of this interaction has not been explored. The aim of this experimental study was to investigate underlying functional and molecular mechanisms associated with sex differences in a dual pathology model of HFpEF and diabetes.
