Abstract

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation is an essential skill for all health care professionals, and this review will outline some of the salient points of this large topic. However, it will assume prior knowledge, and focus on in-hospital cardiopulmonary resuscitation and periarrest arrhythmias. Space limits the scope of this review, and the authors urge the reader to complete an Advanced Life Support course organized under the guidance of the relevant national resuscitation council (see Further Reading).
