Abstract

We report in this communication the isolation of cardamonin (2', 4'-dihydroxy–6'-methoxy chalcone) and alpinetin (7–hydroxy–5–methoocy flavanone) from the seeds of Amomum subulatum Roxb. (Zingiberaceae). An earlier chemical investigation on the seeds [1] revealed the presence of a number of terpenes.
