Abstract

Cardamine karol-marholdii, a new species from Oaxaca, Mexico, is unique and readily distinguishable from all members of the tribe Cardamineae by having strongly flexuous raceme rachis and short-node stems that become woody in subsequent seasons and roughened by the persistent, thickened petiolar bases. It also has pinnatisect leaves with linear, adaxially slightly grooved, short lobes usually overlapping along most of their length.
