Abstract

Cytoreductive surgery coupled with hyperthermic intraoperative intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) is a part of the treatment of peritoneal carcinomatosis of colorectal origin, giving hope of prolonged survival. This treatment is becoming more codified, the latest results published highlight the decline in morbidity and mortality and the interest of using new drugs like oxaliplatin. Future efforts should therefore focus on homogenization and rationalization of the indications.
