Abstract

Abstract
Study of 123 patients operated on for carcinoma of the tongue showed that the disease has a better prognosis when it is diagnosed early (no advanced stage), when it is located in the anterior portion of the tongue, when the patient does not present with clinically positive node involvement on the first examination, and when radical surgery is performed (composite operation with prophylactic neck dissection).
