Abstract

SUMMARYAfter a review of the anatomy, aetiology and symptomatology of urethral carcinoma in the female, the treatment, with particular reference to radiotherapeutic methods, is discussed. Five cases are presented which have all been treated by radon implantation, and the author considers that this represents the most hopeful form of conservative therapy at present available. The high incidence of inguinal gland involvement is pointed out, and it is felt that there is a strong argument for their dissection in all cases.
