Abstract

The high-temperature working environment of ethylene pyrolysis furnace tubes makes carburization one of the main damage mechanisms, and carburization also leads to the degradation of tube material properties and failure. It is important to study the carburization rate of long-term service furnace tubes for the evaluation of long-cycle use and carburization detection. In this paper, the relationship between carburization rate and carburization time is studied by low-pressure vacuum carburization of Cr35Ni45Nb alloy tubes with different service life (new tubes, two years, three years, and six years) in the field, aiming to provide a scientific basis for the remaining life prediction and carburization inspection for the tube material.
