Abstract
Formulated as an η3 complex, compound 2 is synthesized from the centrosymmetric ligand 1 and [Fe2(CO)9]. On photolysis 2 evolves CO and is converted into 3, in which the P atoms have an almost planar coordination environment. mes 2,4,6-Me3C6H2.
