Abstract

The bio-based flexible sensing materials with flexibility, environmentally friendly, facile preparation and high sensitivity have a broad application prospect in pressure sensing applications. Herein, we reported a cellulose-based pressure sensors manufactured by a simple vacuum negative pressure method with carbonized cattail and polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS). The external strain and stress stimuli transformed into electrical signal successfully through the sensor. The PDMS/ carbonized cattail pressure sensor with a facile preparation process has an excellent mechanical property including high compressibility and durability simultaneously. Moreover, it exhibited a high sensitivity in the compressive range from 0% to 15%, and the corresponding electrical signals can be detected continuously. In addition, the PDMS/carbonized cattail pressure senor could measure the weight within a certain weight with an excellent linear relationship between weights and electrical signals. These characteristic make the senor a good candidate for human motion monitoring.
