Abstract
Carbon-supported Au-doped N-C-coated CoFe alloy nanocomposite electrocatalysts (Au/CoFe@CN/C) are prepared and applied to BH4− electrooxidation. The physical and electrochemical properties of the catalysts are characterized and tested by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, cyclic voltammetry, chronamperometry, chronopotentiometry, and rotating disk electrode voltammetry. The results show that Au(50)/CoFe@CN(50)/C has excellent catalytic performance for BH4− electrooxidation, high charge transfer number up to 6.4, and low precious metal content, making it a promising anode electrocatalyst of direct borohydride fuel cell.
