Abstract

3C and 14C isotope shifts establish that carbon is a constituent of the optical centres giving zero-phonon lines at 767.3, 768.6, 789.4, 919.8, 925.5, 928.6, 929.1 and 949.9 meV in irradiated CZ silicon. The local modes of the 789.4 meV ('band C') phonon sideband do not vary with C isotope but are sensitive to oxygen and silicon isotopes.
