Abstract

Ni catalysts supported on nanosheet (S) and nanoplate (P) γ-Al2O3 have been successfully synthesized for carbon dioxide (CO2) reforming of methane. The Ni/Al2O3-S catalyst possessed excellent activity and stability whereas the Ni/Al2O3-P catalyst exhibited slightly lower activity and much worse stability. The Ni/Al2O3-S catalyst displayed much smaller size of Ni nanoparticles, which may explain the difference in activity. The Ni/Al2O3-S catalyst possessed enhanced anti-sintering and anti-coke properties, which would lead to an improved stability.
