Abstract

Measurements were made of the gain Ko of a CO2 gasdynamic laser utilizing the combustion products of C2H2–pCO–(5 + n)N2O–mN2 mixtures. The gain was Ko≈1m−1 at To≈1600-2000°K. It was found that fuel combinations of the C2H2–3N2O–mN2 type could be used in gasdynamic lasers with selective excitation of the working gas.
