Abstract

Initial G-values of H/sub 2/ and C/sub 1/--C/sub 7/ products form the radiolysis of 2,2,4-trimethylpentane (2,2,4-TMP) were measured. Scavenged and molecular yields of hydrogen, methane, propylene, isobutane, isobutene, heptanes, and heptenes were also obtained by adding iodine up to the saturated concentration. It was concluded that within the range of the products analyzed there should be four types of dissociation reactions in the radiolysis of 2,2,4- TMP. These reactions are discussed. (P.C.H.)
