Abstract

The carbon-13 chemical shifts and carbon-fluorine coupling constants are reported for a series of trifluoromethyl derivatives. The chemical shifts occur between 78–129 ppm. A qualitative attempt was made to reveal the important factors determining the chemical shifts by correlating them with electronegativities, fluorine-19 chemical shifts and the one-bond carbon-fluorine coupling constants.
