Abstract
Carabid beetles (Coleoptera: Carabidae) constitute an important part of the diversity of edaphic fauna. Given its importance in natural control of pests and its response as bioindicators, it is important to recognize the genera and species present in a particular locality; nevertheless, in Colombia, their study has been relatively poor. The present dataset lists the genera and some species of carabids deposited in the Entomology Museum of the Universidad del Valle (University of Valle). This collection has 355 records belonging to 38 genera, of which only 10 have specifications identified to the species category
