Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of carbetocin in the prevention of postpartum hemorrhage caused by uterine inertia. Methods 200 women with spontaneous pregnancy were randomly divided into a study group and a control group,100 for each group. As the baby was delivered, the study group received carbetocin while the control group received oxytocin.Maternal bleeding and changes in Hh concentration were observed in both groups.Resalts Intraoperative bleeding volume and 24-hour postoperative bleeding volume were significantly smaller in the study group than in the control group; the incidence rate of postpartum hemorrhage was 2.0% and 7.0%,respectively,with a statistical significance between the two groups (P<0.05).Meanwhile,the declined level of Hb was significantly less in the study group than in the control group, with a statistical significance (P<0.05).Conclusions Carbetocin can effectively reduce postpartum hemorrhage with good efficacy and is much better than any other tocolytic agents. It is worth popularizing.
