Abstract
Cucumber is a vegetable very cultivated and known in Brazil, used in the preparation of salads and preserves. In Amazonas, cultivation is based on seeds from specialized companies, purchased on the local market. However, family farmers multiply and conserve seeds of traditional varieties. The objective of this work was to characterize a variety of cucumber from Benjamin Constant, Alto Solimões, Amazonas, describing it based on its morphological, phenological and agronomic characteristics. The variety has peculiar phenological and agronomic characteristics, such as a concentrated harvest (45 days) and a short cycle (105 days). The dimensions (20.1 cm x 6.7 cm), the weight (525.8 g) and the taste free of bitterness of the fruits, at the point of horticultural maturity, are outstanding attributes in the variety.
