Abstract
The hydrological behavior directly affects the way human activities are developed in a place, especially in the context of engineering works. In the municipality of Presidente Prudente, the focus of study for this work, there is a history of flooding, with emphasis on Parque do Povo. Therefore, the study in question aimed to physically characterize the watersheds of the main green areas of the city in order to understand these processes. Three locations were selected: Parque do Povo, Parque Nelson Bugalho and Lagoa dos Patos. The basins were delimited and the Square Method was used to calculate values such as the Gravelius Index (Kc), Shape Factor (Kf), Drainage Density (Dd), among others. Slope Distribution Curves and Longitudinal Profiles of the course of the analyzed rivers were also generated. The data obtained were consistent with the real situation of the areas considered and collabor to improve the existing water management system.
