Abstract

Soil is the product of joint action of the parent material, climate, topography, time and organisms associated with pedogenic processes: addition, deletion, translocation and transformation, which determine the behavior of the soil. Thus, the aim of this study was to characterize Argissolos in different relief features in Jaboticabal, SP. Three trenches were opened in top segments, slopes and foothills, then morphological description of horizons and soil collected for physical, chemical and mineralogical characterization were performed. The physical and chemical properties obey the pattern of exposure segments existing shed. The highest degree of crystallinity of iron oxides on top of the landscape when compared to the slope and foothills environments and mineralogy gibsitica predominated in top segments and the slope of the landscape, while at the foot dominated the kaolinitic mineralogy.
