Abstract
Se efectuó la caracterización de una muestra de 55 mineros, 41 son hombres, 14 mujeres, con edades entre 51 y 60 años; 19 mineros no están formalizados, 25 utilizan Mercurio y 28 no tienen capacitación en salud. Los resultados indican falta de educación formal, organización institucional, apoyo gubernamental. Presentan precariedad económica y exposición a riesgos laborales y ambientales. Requieren acciones comunitarias, gubernamentales y académicos para mejorar las condiciones de vida y trabajo. Además, promover minería segura, saludable, sostenible.
