Abstract

Railroad network is similar in some conceptions to electric current, such as a fulcrum station to a node, the car routing to the current loop and the car flow to electric current, etc. So it could put some concepts of circuit into car routing, for example, it can make formula about the traffic flow volume at the fulcrum station, which any of fulcrum stations replaces a node in circuit and the traffic flow volume passed replaces the electric current. Based Kirchhoff’s electric current law, the paper addresses the car flow routing and distribution model. This model aims to minimize the expected total cost. The model can get car routing and distribution at the same time, avoiding the double-calculation (solved the car flow routing and then worked out the distribution by some traditional ways). Based on the Lingo which is implemented in C#, the paper solved the numerical experiments under the railroad network environment. The results show that this model can satisfy the actual needs and has strong adaptability.
