Abstract
Aim: Optimizing patient scheduling in a large radiation therapy department is particularly challenging when factoring in specialized techniques, resource availability and patient preferences. To aid in optimizing operations and patient flow a novel artificial intelligence (AI) powered scheduling program is under development. To provide Patient Centred Care, it is important to take patients’ appointment time preferences into consideration whilst creating the treatment schedule. By capturing and digitizing patients’ time preferences they can be incorporated into the AI powered algorithm currently under development.
