Abstract

The use of Kelly's repertory grid technique (1955) in capturing the mental models of managers is demonstrated through an application using senior management of a volunteer fire department. The technique itself is explained and its applicability to capturing the constructs used by managers to understand their function is explored. The applicability to the understanding of intelligent organizations and directions for future research are presented. >
