Abstract

Solid state supramolecular assembly of a novel C3-symmetric tripodal luminescent organic molecule has been explored to understand the molecular aggregation and the different possible interactions between host–host and host–guest pairs. Interesting capsule voided confinement of guest molecules and the helical arrangement via non-covalent interactions have been evidenced by single crystal X-ray diffraction and solid state circular dichroism study, respectively. Visual color change and variable temperature powder X-ray diffraction study supported solid state transitions in the supramolecular architecture.
