Abstract

We are delighted to present this special issue of IJCS on CapsNet-based computing in cognitive communications. Capsule Networks (CapsNet) in cognitive communication models and applications. It contains some of the state-of-the-art research works that integrate smart networking models like Capsule Networks with the existing cognitive communication models and applications. In particular, this issue aims to reflect the current research in the widespread field of cognitive communication systems as well as its consideration in future. This editorial will introduce the topic of the special issue, outline the contributions that make up its content, and offer some valuable research insights on the future of cognitive communications research [1]. Before presenting the contributions provided by each of the papers, some observations about current and emerging trends in the field are described below. The success of cognitive communication systems initially seemed promising. However, it was revealed that such comprehension was far from complete: Approaches that learned to repeat common networking patterns and relationships has faced significant challenges [2]. Researchers were inspired by the success of capsule networks to create new tasks that push the boundaries of what the traditional cognitive communication networks perform. In this perspective, some of state-of-the-art research works in this developing field are covered in this special issue of the International Journal of Communication Systems. We would like to thank the editors and reviewers for their time, effort, and commitment to this special issue. We would also like to thank the authors who contributed their research in this special issue. We extend our gratitude to the IJCS Publication team, as well as Editor in Chief “Prof. Mohammad Obaidat,” for their support and coordination for the successful publication of this special issue.
