Abstract

Two different water transport processes – suction and drying of the inorganic porous building materials were analysed from the aspect of their dependence on the pore structure parameter - capillary moisture content, value of which is determining both of them. The analysis was based on the correlations between results of water suction and drying experiments with the simultaneous interpretation of analytical solutions of the water transport diffusion equation expressing these processes. The results of the analysis confirm the significance of capillary moisture content and relationships between the parameters of suction and drying, given by a material pore structure.
