Abstract
Capillary gel electrophoresis is quickly becoming a widely accepted analytical tool to separate and analyze biopolymers such as proteins and DNA. Potential advantages over conventional electrophoretic methods include high-resolution, high-speed separations, detection of small quantities, and the capability for automation and on-line detection. Many successful applications have been developed with this technique such as sodium dodecyl sulfate protein analysis and oligonucleotide, single-stranded and double-stranded DNA separation including DNA sequencing, mutational spectra and anti-sense DNA analysis.
