Abstract

Correlations between retention indices and boiling temperatures have been determined using experimental data obtained in two capillary columns of different polarity (Carbowax 1540 and Squalane). The influence of polarity, temperature of the stationary phase, and the range of variation of the value of the factor a of Kováts' Second Rule have been studied for 19 homologous series of esters, alcohols, aldehydes, and ketones.
