Abstract

ABSTRACT p-Nitro-phenol was determined in water by capillary electrophoresis and solid-phase extraction methods. The optimization was at 150 g/L concentration, 1.0 g/L dose, 7.0 pH and 15 min’ contact time. Background electrolyte was phosphate buffer (15 mM, pH 7.0) with 18 kV voltage, 215 nm detection, 20 s sample loading time. The amount of p-nitro-phenol extracted in water was 90%. The detection and quantification limits of p-nitro-phenol were 0.3 and 2.8 ng/L. The modeling results of p-nitro-phenol with CNTs indicated hydrophobic and π-π stacked interactions as the sportive forces with −1.0 kcal/mole binding energy and 1.50 M−1 binding affinity.
