Abstract

We investigate capillary condensation of symmetric binary fluid mixtures confined in slit-like pores with differently adsorbing walls. The interactions between adsorbate particles are modeled by Lennard–Jones (12, 6) potentials and the adsorbing potentials are of the Lennard–Jones (9, 3) type. We concentrate on the evaluation of the phase diagrams for the mixture of different compositions placed in pores of different adsorption potentials. The calculations were performed by means of a density functional theory. Our investigations indicate that a binary mixture may exhibit rich phase behavior.
