Abstract

The Agadir Canyon is the largest submarine canyon on the Moroccan continental margin, and is a major conduit for turbidity currents transporting sediments from the Morocco Shelf to the Canary Basin (Wynn et al. 2000). The Agadir Canyon is about 200 km long, and extends from the shelf edge at 150m to the lower rise at 4,250 m (Fig. 1). Open image in new window Fig. 1.
