Abstract

Good cannulation practice is a necessary but neglected area of definitive vascular access use for haemodialysis (HD). Without successful cannulation, arteriovenous fistulae and grafts are not viable options for HD access. Katie Fielding, Helen Spooner and Margaret Aitken explore this issue to inspire HD nurses to optimise their cannulation skills.
