Abstract

In order for learners to move from a lower-level to a higher-level order of thinking, they must follow an orderly systematic approach. Pandora Goode discusses the basic principles of the ASSURE model and Robert Gagné's Nine Events of Instruction, and explains their value when teaching nurses the procedure for cannulating a dialysis vascular access.
