Abstract

Bruising after cosmetic procedures is a cause of patient complaints and a common complication with periocular procedures that require injected lidocaine because of the delicate nature of eyelid tissue and ample vascularity. Reported methods for bruise prevention and treatment include blood pressure control; avoidance of anticoagulants; and the use of epinephrine, ice, arnica, and vascular lasers.1
