Abstract

The most common fungal infection found in children infected with HIV is from the candida organ ism. This article describes the epidemiology and pathogenesis of the organism. The clinical course of the infection along with the nursing intervention is presented. A brief case presentation illus trates the psychosocial and cultural implications for care.
