Abstract
Tumors interact reciprocally with their hosts' physiology and metabolism, making cancer a systemic disease. In this issue of Cell Metabolism, Borniger etal. (2018) demonstrate this phenomenon by linking the endocrine control of food intake with sleep behavior and liver metabolism in a mouse model of non-metastatic breast carcinoma.
