Abstract
Gill Oliver, Chair of the Cancer Nursing Society, made a name for herself when she was oncology nursing adviser at the RCN's Department of Nursing Policy and Practice. A member of the Society since 1978, she has served on the Executive and started her term as Chair in April 1990. Gill has worked as a sister in a regional oncology unit and in the nursing department of a regional health authority, and is currently Nurse Manager at the Mersey Regional Centre for Radiotherapy and Oncology. She is committed to ensuring that the Society is at the forefront of cancer care activities in the local, national and international arena.
