Abstract

Genomic signal processing [1] (GSP) is a comparatively novel area in bioinformatics. It deals with the utilization of traditional digital signal processing (DSP) techniques in the representation and analysis of genomic data. As the gene microarray becomes more accessible, microarray gene expression data are finding applications in diverse areas of cancer study, and they can be used to test and generate new hypotheses [2]. A fundamental step in the understanding of a genome is the computational recognition, and in the analysis of newly sequenced genomes, it is one of the challenges. Conventional and modern signal processing techniques play a vital part as an accurate and speedy tool in the analysis of genomic sequences [3,4].
