Abstract

The anti-Hu associated syndrome is a rare paraneoplastic neurological syndrome, which is principally associated with small-cell lung cancer. We report the case of a patient with the following clinical features: dysautonomia with severe gastroparesis, sensory neuropathy and a rhombencephalitis. Tumour regression was obtained with chemotherapy but the patient ultimately died from the neurological complications. Neurological syndromes associated in small cell lung cancer with anti-Hu antibodies are very diverse. Cancer evolution is generally speaking more benign than usual with the prognosis linked to the severity of the neurological involvement.
