Abstract

The cancellation of waves generated by four-wave mixing (FWM) in multichannel optical fibre transmission is demonstrated using midway optical phase conjugation. An FWM reduction ratio of –10.6 dB is achieved in an experimental three-channel transmission experiment along a 40 km dispersion-shifted fibre.
