Abstract

The limitations of humanity are defined by an ability to break from the confines of civilization and dream of possibilities. Progression of science and philosophical thought pave the way for a posthuman future. There are two distinct paths toward a superhuman identity: breaking from the collectivist agenda and becoming a self-governed deity, which I will equate to Nietzsche’s Zarathustra and a corresponding notion of the Ubermensch; and physically adapting to the environment in a transhuman fashion that ultimately permeates a posthuman capacity, which I will associate with cyborgs and mutation capabilities. Can our posthuman future be defined by us or will it define our future?
