Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine differences between senior-level students and campus recreational sport directors in their perceptions of recreational sport management internships. Using a web-based survey of 48 items, the study explored how students and practitioners differed in their view regarding the role of the internship experience, role of the internship agency, intern abilities, and factors in selecting an internship. Overall, the results of the study revealed that students and practitioners were in agreement with the majority of items asked (39 of 48 items). Nine significant differences were found and discussed in the paper.
