Abstract

The Federal Republic of Cameroon came into being on 1st October, 1961 on the agreement of both the Republic of Cameroun, which was formerly known as the Cameroons under French Mandate and the Southern Cameroons, which had formerly been the Cameroons under British Mandate, to join together in a Federation. There were twenty-four Federal Laws enacted in 1967 but, apart from the Penal Code and the Labour Code, the only other Laws of general legal interest, other than those referred to in the section dealing with West Cameroon were Law No. The appeal against the decision of the Special Criminal Court was taken by the Procureur General pres la Cour Supreme du Cameroun Oriental in a case where a Civil servant employed in the Ministry of Public Works stole the sum of 1 million Francs C.F.A. No decisions of any great general legal importance were given by the ordinary Courts in West Cameroon during 1967. .
